The pump cartridge used in the Hummer is the metric version of the pump used in GM trucks. It has "metric" cast into the pump body, right by the pulley shaft. They are available remanufactured with a lifetime warranty from Parts America, number 7519606. The rebuilder is "Original Equipment Re-Manufacturer's". (NAPA NSP20860) For a cross reference, use a 2000 GMC Savana Van with the 6.5L diesel engine.

Apart from a diaphragm failure, in which case the pump will run quietly but not generate a vacuum, the most likely cause of failure is the front bearing.
GM gives this bearing an encrypted part number, apparently to prevent easy matching, but it is actually a common 17mmx40mmx12mm Metric Ball Bearing easily cross referenced to 6203-2RS (the 2RS indicates two rubber dust seals).
If an exchange pump is required the common number is 641018 which covers 1997-2004 Hummers, and the 6.5 diesel used in 1996-1997 Chevrolet and GMC trucks.
Do not use a pump specified for 1998 and later Chevrolet and GMC trucks as a different part number is used for these.
