Wagon Barn Door Lock Repair:

Barn door lock repair: How to...

  1. Remove the 4 large screws on the inside of the door handle assembly.

  2. Lift the whole inner assembly out (don't worry - nothing falls off).

  3. Remove small spring clip (don't drop it or you'll need a magnet to fish it out).

  4. Remove the offset locking bracket (held in place by the spring clip).

  5. Remove large thin nut from the back of the lock cylinder (use your other hand to hold the cylinder from falling out the other side)

  6. Spray the entire cylinder with WD 40 and manipulate key in lock until the cylinder starts to free up.

  7. Continue to spray it until all the rust, grit and metal filings wash out.

  8. Re-assemble.

  9. Takes about 15 minutes to disassemble - less to reinstall (since you know what you did already).

Any locksmith can make you a new spare key.
