Wagon Barn Door Lock Repair:
Barn door lock repair: How to...
- Remove the 4 large screws on the inside of the door handle assembly.
- Lift the whole inner assembly out (don't worry - nothing falls off).
- Remove small spring clip (don't drop it or you'll need a magnet to fish it out).
- Remove the offset locking bracket (held in place by the spring clip).
- Remove large thin nut from the back of the lock cylinder (use your other hand to hold the cylinder from falling out the other side)
- Spray the entire cylinder with WD 40 and manipulate key in lock until the cylinder starts to free up.
- Continue to spray it until all the rust, grit and metal filings wash out.
- Re-assemble.
- Takes about 15 minutes to disassemble - less to reinstall (since you know what you did already).
Any locksmith can make you a new spare key.
