Removing the Door Chime:

This is the unit that causes the "ding" sound to be generated when a door is open or if the lights are left on.
The diagram below applies to 1996-1998 Hummers (confirmed). Other model years may be the same or similar.

Simply unplug the door chime unit. Removal is optional.
