Cheap Heater Upgrade:

There is a little trick I did with my '97 TD wagon because I too, had almost no heat in the front "foot" area. I went to Home Depot and picked up 2 screw bands and a 7 foot length of flexible plastic tubing (I think it was about 2" or 2.5" in diameter). I placed one end of the tubing over the rear heat "downspout", ran it along the inside (between the seat and the doghouse) and aimed it down about 10" off the floor. I did the same thing on the passenger side. Now I get plenty of heat in those areas. The back is still heated by the upper doghouse vents. I too have the HVAC upgrade (around 4K) - but I think this method would work even if you didn't have the upgrade. Only costs about $10 in parts to find out. I would have like to had clear hose but I had to settle for black...but even the black is not an eyesore...you don't really even notice it. Good luck.

Tom
