Fast Idle:

Drove my 95 wagon yesterday about 30 mi. with cruise control on. When we stopped engine would not idle down. Restarted about 30 minutes later still high idle. Any suggestion where to start looking?

On the rear of the passenger's side head is the temperature sensor for the high idle. (It has two wires). Unplug the sensor and if the idle returns to normal then the sensor is bad. I had one fail on mine some years ago.

If this does not fix the problem, then the problem is likely either a stuck high idle solenoid (it is external to the injection pump) or a binding accelerator linkage (was the recall done?)

Caution: if the sensor is bad not only are you in high idle, but the injection pump is running well advanced which can introduce other problems if not addressed. If not terribly cold, unplug the advance solenoid (internal to the injection pump) so you are not running too advanced all the time.
