Checking Batteries:

Simple check for battery when it won't start...

Turn on the headlights - should come on brightly. With lights on, try to start the truck. If the lights don't dim significantly, it is not the battery.

If you can't see the headlights, use the volt meter.

If there is a problem in the starting circuit (i.e. the neutral start switch), there will be very little current drop. If it is a bad battery, the voltage should drop almost to 0 / the lights will almost go off.
